Meet Eastern Hills Bible Church:

Eastern Hills Bible Church is a multi-generational, 50-years young, non-denominational church rooted in Manlius, NY, comprising people from communities across the greater Syracuse area. On any given Sunday, you’ll find those who have been attending for fifty years (yes, it’s true!) and those who have only been in attendance for a few weeks. We are known in the community for our generosity, partnerships with local nonprofits, and creating environments where those who are disconnected from Christ experience connection in Christ.

 

About the Worship Arts Pastor:

Eastern Hills Bible Church is seeking someone who will thrive in their ability to lead a team of volunteers while also managing planning processes. He will be gifted in leading worship from the platform and capable of developing other musicians and vocalists. This leader will be committed to excellence and using technological skills to create environments (digital/physical) that help people become fully engaged in Christ, at church and on mission.

 

What You Bring:

Education & Experience

Meets the New Testament requirements of an Elder/Overseer.
Bachelor's degree. (Theological training preferred)
Three years of experience in a similar role at a church with an average attendance of five hundred or more.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Skilled musician who can develop vocalists and instrumentalists.
Competent in skills necessary to equip volunteers to program lights, mix audio and stream online services.
Preference is given to candidates with strong videography skills; filming and editing.
Confident, articulate, and professional writing and speaking abilities.
Personal Characteristics

A collaborative leader with High EQ who is relatable, teachable,  humble, and enjoys mandatory fun.
Thinks theologically when building worship services.
Leads worship services with the guest in mind and values participation over performance.
Committed to a deep and wide ministry model.

Scope & Relationships

Develops and implements a system for recruiting, developing, and caring for volunteers in worship arts ministry.
Regularly reviews worship service's best practices with leadership.
Primary worship leader most Sundays.
Collaborates with Lead Pastor to review sermons series six months in advance and plan service elements for upcoming services.
Finalizes worship services no less than four weeks in advance with a detailed service sheet clearly outlining service expectations.

Manages assigned departmental budgets.
Oversees the execution of all service-related elements including but not limited to PCO scheduling, song selection, programming tracks in Ableton live, ProPresenter Presentations, props, stage design, stories of life change, and video announcements.
Serves as point person for special services including but not limited to Holiday weekends, Memorial services, and Baptisms.
Chairs projects related to technical needs in the auditorium.
Regular Rhythms

Worship services, Prayer, Hospitality, Generosity, Study, and Community with the church body not related to the role of staff.Develops and implements a system for recruiting, developing, and caring for volunteers in worship arts ministry.
Aligned with church theology and agrees with staff expectations outlined in the employee manual.
Personally lives the Mission and Vision of EHBC; maintains spiritual and emotional health, and plans for job performance improvement.
Leads department-specific meetings, attends staff-related meetings, conferences, and retreats.
Available no less than 46 Sundays per year and no more than two nights per week.

Maintains office hours established by Supervisor.
Raving fan of all things EHBC.

Onsite & Online Worship Service Experience: Growing number of people engaged onsite and online.
Technological Advancement: Eastern Hills remains relevant and equipped in the area of technology.
