To hire a Christ-centered Worship Leader and Director of Discipleship who desires to unite with a growing church community. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Christian Discipleship or Christian Education with an advanced degree being a plus. The candidate will be gifted as a Contemporary Worship Leader with some experience in leading a praise team.
Trinity United Methodist Church is a mid-sized church with much growth potential. We were growing nicely pre-pandemic. Located in NE lowa close to Minneapolis and other metro areas yet in a mid size Midwestem town. Church is located next to a thriving private college.
Our mission is to reach out and gather all age groups to our programs and worship, help them grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ, and go into the community and world to do His work. The Director of Discipleship/Contemporary Worship Leader will strive to build disciples by developing and implementing a comprehensive, integrated, intergenerational approach to our ministry of introducing, developing, and sending disciples into the world. That program will be built by the successful candidate.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
> 75 percent of time will be given to Discipleship Ministries
> 25 percent of time will be given as Praise Band Leader
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ
Belief in all that is said in the Apostles Creed
Commitment to traditional Christian values and practices
Skilled in the use of technology in worship using ProPresenter and other worship technologies is a plus
Desire to incorporate other art forms into worship and disciple making
Must be a self-starter that exudes energy
Must be a team player with a positive attitude
A shepherd's heart for discipleship as well as a musician
Builds contacts and relationships with local pastors, musicians, studios, and clubs for both evangelistic and staffing purposes
Must pass background check and drug test
At least 21 years of age
Valid Driver's License
Willing to become qualified in CPR and first aid
Attend all meetings that have to do with your areas of responsibility
Congregational Education in all above areas.
Small Group formation
Attend all worship services
Attend all staff meetings
Recruit and train volunteers
Recruit and train facilitators
Coordination With Pastor:
You will work closely with the pastor in all areas. Much of the position is done collaboratively with ministry chairs and the pastor.
