Job Title: Child Caregiver and House Helper Needed
We are looking for a part-time babysitter for our children, ages 7 and 11. The children are in 1st and 5th grade. The 5th-grade child has significant emotional and behavioral needs and requires sensitive and supportive care.

Babysitter needed: Mondays 3:30-7:30 pm, Tuesdays 3:00-7:00 pm, and Saturdays 7:00 am-11:00 am, starting June 17th. We are also looking for someone to watch the children on Friday or Saturday evenings, 1 x month. Occasionally during the summer this position will involve picking up one of the children at her school and driving her home.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, confident, and reliable individual to join our family as a Child Caregiver, House Helper, and Driver. This role involves helping us to care for our children during evenings and weekends, assisting with light housecleaning, cooking meals, and drive the children occasionally. Some of the time this position will involve taking care of the children while a parent is present and either cooking or taking care of one child. A brief training will be provided by Dr. Connie Lillas.

Child Care Responsibilities:
Child with Social and Emotional Needs:
Create a safe and nurturing environment for our child with significant social and emotional needs.
Engage in age-appropriate activities that promote emotional well-being and social development.
Be patient, empathetic, and understanding, adapting to the child’s unique needs.
Help with de-escalating during emotionally challenging situations or fights between the children
General Child Care:
Supervise and interact with all children in the household.
Assist with homework, playtime, and bedtime routines.
Ensure proper hygiene and nutrition.
Monitor safety during indoor and outdoor activities.
Engage children in play and homework activities
Housekeeping Duties:
Light Housecleaning:
Wash dishes, wipe countertops, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
Tidy up common areas, including living rooms and playrooms.
Organize toys, books, and other child-related items
Cooking meals
Preparing snacks and family meals
Prior experience in child care or caregiving roles.
Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for children and older adults.
Interest in discussing literature, current events, and playing chess.
Capability to support children with homework and art projects.
Ability to handle emotional situations with sensitivity.
Basic knowledge of life span development.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive.
Skills and Attributes:
Excellent communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Respectful and considerate toward family members.
First aid and CPR certification preferred.
