About the job
The role of this Associate will be to serve as a valued member of the pastoral team. Under the direction of the Senior Pastor, the Associate will fulfill general pastoral responsibilities as follows:
a. Sharing in the creation, planning and leading of regular, special and new worship experiences;
b. Preaching at Sunday services at regular times assigned by the Senior Pastor, and at services held at times other than Sunday;
c. Visiting those who are hospitalized, homebound and in nursing homes, and providing Pastoral Care to the sick, the sorrowful, the lonely and all who need a loving Pastoral presence. This includes sharing the Pastoral Care responsibilities of on-call weekends.
d. Sharing administrative responsibilities as directed by the Senior Pastor and providing direct leadership to the Women’s Ministry and the Mission Team.
a. We are looking for a person of deep personal faith in Jesus Christ who demonstrates a true desire to shape their ministry by the Great Commandment.
b. A person with a faith that loves and respects tradition but is not afraid to discern and explore new movements of the Holy Spirit.
c. A person whose faith is strong enough to love and accept people for who and where they are, and gently persuasive enough to help them grow as Christians.
d. A person whose faith values Christian unity and ecumenical cooperation.
a. Must be a graduate of a four-year accredited college.
b. Must also be a graduate of a theological seminary recognized by the American Association of Theological Schools with a Master of Divinity Degree or its equivalent.
a. A strong advocate of the interdenominational Church.
b. Must demonstrate preaching, pastoral and administrative skills.
c. Demonstrate the ability of working with youth, adults, senior citizens and professional staff.
a. Have a solid understanding of Christian theology and be able to communicate these truths.
b. Demonstrate the ability to understand and love people.
c. Enjoy working with people of all ages with special consideration of the current congregation.
d. Be able to work in groups and with committees both in the Church and community.
a. Relate effectively with church staff.
b. Be able to adjust to the changing needs of individuals and groups.
c. Be able to serve the needs through an individual or team approach, depending on the situation at hand.
d. Be able to work under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.

a. Keep abreast of the times through current research and publications.
b. Be expected to participate in continuing education courses.
