Kids’ City Director at Community Christian Church - Downers Grove
Downers Grove, IL 60515
About the job
Meet COMMUNITY
Community Christian Church (also known as COMMUNITY) is a church that began as the dream of 5 friends from college who wanted to create a place that would help people find their way back to God. Services were first held in a High School cafeteria in 1989, and 8 years later, COMMUNITY launched its first additional location and became one of the pioneers in Multi-site Ministry.
COMMUNITY’s vision is three-fold. To be: 1) An Impact Church – A church that will have a lasting impact on the people and places we engage. 2) A Reproducing Church – A church that will start new campuses and churches worldwide. 3) A Catalyst for a Movement – In 2001, COMMUNITY formed NewThing, a church-planting mission that now includes churches all over the world.
Today COMMUNITY is one church in 4 expressions with 7 locations, Online services, Micro Churches, and a prison ministry.
We are driven by:
- Real Connection with Real People
- Helping People Find Their Way Back to God
- Exponential Transformation
- Restoring God’s Dream for His Diverse World
- Future-Minded Innovation
COMMUNITY'S Downers Grove Location is one of our seven physical locations with a 24/7 and a newly remodeled space and an average weekly attendance of 350 people. With a population of nearly 50,000, Downers Grove is a beautiful community located 22 miles west of Chicago. Convenient access to Chicago via rail and several major expressways make Downers Grove a prime location to live, work and play. Highly ranked schools were a top factor in Downers Grove being named one of the Top 10 Livable Cities for kids by Livability.com. Downers Grove has also been recognized by Forbes as one of America's Friendliest Towns.
About Kids’ City
Kids’ City helps families find their way back to God by helping parents confidently lead their kids spiritually, teach their kids to live generously, and to live in prayer. We are committed to helping the whole family grow in the three Connections of COMMUNITY: You + God, You + the Church and You + the World.
Kids’ City provides age-appropriate small groups every Sunday during the Adult services. Small groups are where children can grow in their relationship with other kids and adults in the church. In Kids’ City, children have an opportunity to engage in God’s word in exciting and meaningful ways with others and consistent leaders.
