Position Summary

The Executive Director (ED) is generally responsible for the organizational health and flourishing of CLDI; this includes developing the leadership of CLDI, consistently ensuring the mission and vision are carried out internally and well-communicated to the Billings community and beyond, ensuring the success of the Board of Directors, and cultivating partnerships with financial donors, organizations, trusts, and foundations. An ideal candidate would have familiarity and alignment with Christian Community Development principles, and be willing to relocate to the South Side community.

Job Purpose:

Administration, Organizational Health, and Staff Development: The Executive Director will fulfill this visionary role as he or she leads the CLDI staff into objectives that will ultimately bring flourishing, healing, and restoration to the South Side community.
Collaboration with the Director of Operations: The Executive Director oversees, supports, and often works with the DOO to ensure that the programs are aligned with CLDI’s mission and vision and are working together to successfully achieve strategic objectives.
Board of Directors: The Executive Director is such an effective communicator of CLDI’s mission, vision, changes, programs, and status that the Board is well-equipped and successful in shepherding the organization’s mission and vision.
Donor Development and Community Engagement: The Executive Director will play a role in donor development and maintaining donor relations.
Organizational Placement:

The Executive Director (ED) provides oversight for all CLDI departments and staff; he or she works under the direction of the Board of Directors and remains accountable to the Board for all operations and development regarding the organization.

Proven ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and/or other related agencies;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Proven skills in vision-casting and vision implementation;
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate vision and mission to a broad variety of people;
Proven leadership skills, including strategic planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation;
Ability to plan and successfully implement effective program and business operations; and,
Knowledge of asset management related to financial resources and property

Passionate about CLDI’s mission; and
Displays a posture of humility and integrity

Education and Experience

Master’s degree (preferred) or a minimum of five years of experience working in a non-profit setting
Experience successfully leading a diverse staff;
Experience in raising funds, writing grants, and donor development; and,
Experience successfully managing the programs and operations of an organization

Schedule and Compensation:

This exempt position will require approximately 40+ hours a week. Work hours allow flexibility. Compensation is determined by the candidate’s experience, and through comparative analysis to other equivalent positions. Benefit package includes Health Insurance Reimbursement Plan, Employee Retirement Matching Program, paid vacation and holidays.
