Church Without Walls Berkeley (CWOW) is a cross-cultural faith community that follows Jesus, loving God, the Bible, our neighbor, and the world. We believe in living out our faith in community life, bringing justice to the poor and the afflicted, and sharing the good news of Christ by engaging in relational ministry with the people around us. CWOW is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) denomination.

CWOW is seeking a Christian woman or man of faith, vision, and spiritual maturity to lead our Next Generation Ministry. The Next Generation Ministry Director plays an essential role in leading middle school, high school, and college students into deeper relationships with Christ. Partnering with parents, our Next Generation Ministry endeavors to create a safe and intentional space to nurture spiritual curiosity, to lay down the foundations of our youth’s lifelong discipleship journey with God.

Responsibilities:

Sunday & Mid-Week Spiritual Formation

Research and create age-appropriate curriculum
Plan and implement the Sunday and mid-week next generation ministry programs
Recruit, train, mentor, and care for volunteers

Community Development

Mentor and connect with the youth and young adults in our community
Plan and implement outreach gatherings and programs
Plan and implement youth & college programs at church retreats
Connect with other local church youth or next generational pastors for collaboration opportunities

Communication & Administration

Codify, enforce, and regularly review child safety and security guidelines in coordination with Children’s Ministry Director
Comply with all federal and state mandated child abuse prevention training requirements and train parents, staff, and volunteer accordingly
Provide regular written ministry updates to parents
Meet regularly with pastor/executive director and children’s ministry director for supervision and collaboration respectively
Prepare and oversee the Next Generation Ministry budget

Good organizational and leadership skills
5 plus years of prior youth or college ministry experience or equivalent

Hours 10-20 hours per week part-time non-exempt

Compensation $30 per hr - $33.65 per hr
