English Congregation Co-Pastor Opening

Responsibilities:

Focus on growing the English congregation (about 150 members)
Shepherd the congregation through expository preaching and teaching
Disciple, equip, and raise up leaders for the work of ministry
Move the congregation toward the vision of the congregation:
We are an intergenerational church that

• invites others to follow Jesus Christ,
• invests in one another’s discipleship journey, and
• integrates faith with life
• by the power of the Holy Spirit for God’s glory.

Partner with the congregational leadership (elders, the other English co-pastor with a young adult focus, youth ministry pastors, deacons) to lead the overall English congregation

• Preach Sunday sermons up to 3 times a month as part of the preaching team (co-pastors, youth pastor, occasionally elders and guest speakers).
• In collaboration with the team, take charge of guiding the preaching themes and calendar.
• In collaboration with the team, take charge on Christian education (Sunday School) - come up with curriculum, teach Sunday Schools, organize calendar and teachers, train up teachers.
• Motivate members to express their faith in evangelism and compassion services in the community.
• Officiate communions, weddings, baptisms and funerals as needed.
• Provide pastoral care (visitations, hospital visits, counseling, etc.) to congregation members as needed.
• Work in collaboration with deacons and other leaders for key events (ex. Family retreat, Christmas outreach, Good Friday, etc.).
• Oversee and support small group ministries.
• Serve in other church ministries as needed.

Qualifications:

• Seminary degree preferred
• Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Pastoral/ministry experience, minimum 5 years
• Significant ministry experience with Asian-Americans (first generation and beyond)
• Interpersonal skills
• Team player
• Committed to and exemplify the values of servant leadership
• Passionate about intergenerational ministry and church body life
• Heart for sharing the gospel.
• Excellent role model for adults and families
• Agree with CCIC’s values, leadership structure, and doctrinal position
