STUDENT MINISTRIES PASTOR

The Student Ministries Pastor is responsible for coordinating, developing, and improving a

growing, balanced ministry for youth, their families and the youth leaders of this church.

The Student Ministries Pastor will come under the supervision of the Lead Pastor. Salary

package and benefits will be determined by the Personnel Team. All other matters are

addressed in the Employee Handbook.

 

YOUTH LEADERS

*Work with the staff in recruiting volunteer workers and leaders.

*Provide training for volunteers in the areas of program administration and

implementation, relationship building, teaching, counseling and witness training.

 

PARENTS OF YOUTH

*Develop opportunities for parents to be involved in the youth program activities.

*Partner with them in the discipleship of their students by equipping, providing

resources, and meeting with them to provide and receive feedback.

*Share timely and needed information through appropriate channels of communication.

 

YOUTH

*Encourage spiritual development through participation in youth group, youth

conferences, camps and other special events designed to lead students into an intimate

relationship with Christ.

*Conduct discipleship and Bible study experiences for varying levels of interest and ability.

*Coordinate special events and projects through the staff and youth program.

*Provide pastoral counseling and ministry for our youth.

*Develop and manage a yearly ministry budget.

 

CHURCH FAMILY

*Participate in visitation ministry as the church reaches out to prospects.

*Provide pastoral counseling to church members needing help.

*Conduct baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. as requested.

 

DENOMINATIONAL ACTIVITY

*Participation in State Convention and Associational meetings is encouraged when possible.

*Develop an understanding of the purposes and direction of the State Convention and Association.

*Permission may be granted by the Lead Pastor to accept leadership opportunities at one or both levels.

 

PREACHING

*Occasional preaching as requested by Lead Pastor.

*Be prepared to fill the pulpit in case of an illness affecting the Lead Pastor.

 

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

*Maintain and model spiritual disciplines that lead to spiritual growth.

 

FAMILY DEVELOPMENT

*Prioritize family time so as not to neglect “at home” responsibilities.

 

STAFF EXPECTATIONS

*Participate in Winter Staff Retreat.

*Take a weekly day off.

*Coordinate time off with the rest of the staff.

*Work and play like a team.

*Install accountability software on your computer.

*Attend weekly staff meetings.
