About the job
The Center for Individual and Family Therapy (CIFT) is a non-profit Christian counseling center that exists to support the Church in the pursuit of mental, emotional, and relational health within our local communities. The position of Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) will provide full
assessments, coordination, planning, and implementation of a psychodynamic treatment plan for patients, including individual, couple, family, and groups. Associates will also receive supervision, training, and education. New hires would be expected to be available for a full-time caseload, but part-time limitations could be considered. The position of AMFT, ASC, and APCC carries with it
the following duties, responsibilities, and requirements:
• Providing thoughtful, compassionate and integrative psychotherapeutic care and services to CIFT’s general client population, within the scope of your education, training and experience
o Maintaining up-to-date and accurate client records
o Serving the needs of CIFT’s clients in a timely and professional manner
• Attending and actively engaging in weekly supervision meetings
o Presenting all necessary aspects of clinical work and professional development
o Receiving and applying direction offered by Clinical Supervisor(s)
o Regular communication with Clinical Supervisor(s) on pertinent clinical matters
? Including management of crises, countertransference, etc.
o Commitment to growth and development as a clinician and team member
• Attending and actively engaging in weekly clinical trainings
• Adhering to all legal and ethical requirements within the field of psychotherapy including those put forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and other CA licensing and regulatory agencies
• Assisting CIFT in marketing and ministry efforts, helping to generate your own referrals
• Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
• Embodying and upholding CIFT values of professionalism, godliness, compassion, and integrity.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct oneself in a respectful and ethical manner
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
• Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making
• Listens actively, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to
understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
• Thinks critically to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions,
conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Communicates ideas and information effectively in both verbal and written form
• Knowledge of local and statewide training and licensing requirements
• Ability to work in and adapt the culture of a multi-cultural, community-based organization
Position Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Professional Clinical Counseling
• Current State of California registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Professional Clinical Counseling
• Prior clinical experience required (completion of MFT Practicum) and demonstration of clinical depth, acumen and commitment to growth
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to travel to site locations
• Employment contingent upon clear fingerprint and criminal history record
