About the job
We are seeking part-time care and companionship for our 35 year old daughter who has a disability called Rett Syndrome. She cannot communicate verbally, so a caretaker has to be patient and interactive. Most things have to be done for her because she does not have the purposeful use of her hands. Responsibilities include dressing, feeding, and bathing her, as well as reading with her, walking her, and taking her on outings to the local parks, library, and stores. She loves people, and smiles and laughs out of her joyful heart. She enjoys going on walks, which is the biggest challenge because of her unsteady gait. She also likes looking at picture books and using an interactive computer that responds to her eye movements. Nursing skills are not required. A sedan car is necessary to facilitate getting her in and out of the car. We have a preference for a caregiver who is between 20 and 40 years old, an active Christian, fluent in English, and a non-smoker. Regarding Covid-19, we are not vaccinated and we do not wear masks.
