Caregiver and companion at
Sierra Madre, CA

Caregiving Position in Sierra Madre on the weekend starting May 6th. We are looking for a female, caregiver and companion for our 36 year old daughter Lisa Joy who has a disability called Rett Syndrome. She cannot communicate verbally so a caretaker has to be patient and interactive. Most things have to be done for her because she does not have the purposeful use of her hands and cannot walk without assistance. Depending on the shift, the responsibilities include dressing, feeding, toileting, bathing, as well as reading with her, walking with her, and taking her to the local parks, library, and stores. She also loves to swim at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in the afternoons. The person needs to be fluent in English. Nursing skills are not required. A sedan car is necessary to facilitate getting her in and out of the car. We have a preference for a caregiver who is between 20 and 40 years old and an active Christian because Lisa Joy loves Jesus. The hours include the following shifts: on both Saturday and Sunday: 8 to 11am, 11am to 2 pm: 3 to 6 pm, and 6 to 9 pm. Taking one or two shifts would be welcomed. The pay is $30 per hour.
