We are seeking up to 30 weekday hours or care and companionship for our 36 year old daughter who has a disability called Rett Syndrome. She cannot communicate verbally, so a caretaker has to be patient and interactive. Most things have to be done for her because she does not have the purposeful use of her hands. The hours are 8 or 9 am to 1:30 or 2 pm Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include feeding and, toileting her, as well walking her, and taking her on outings to the local parks, library, and stores. She can only walk with assistance because of balance and her unsteady gait. Experience and nursing skills are not required. Training and payment will be provided by Peoples Care. The minimum age requirement is 21. Applicants must have a sedan vehicle in good condition with valid car registration, car insurance and driver's license. Non U.S citizen must have a work permit and be eligible to work in the United States. We have a preference for a caregiver who is between 20 and 40 years old, fluent in English, an active Christian, and a non-smoker.
