Worship Associate Job Description

 

Overview

We’re looking for a musically-gifted, spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded Christian to lead in all worship ministries under the direction of our Worship Minister.

 

About the Church

We are a conservative SBC church located in west Fort Worth. Our goal is to lead a church of all generations that stands on Truth as we engage our community. Birchman’s staff functions as a large team that works together to accomplish this vision. Our Sunday morning worship service style is blended (leaning contemporary) with a choir, orchestra, band, and praise team.

 

Candidate Requirements

?    Have a lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).

?    Have experience leading worship in a similar church setting.

?    Be a proficient vocalist and instrumentalist.

?    Have a focus on current contemporary music.

?    Have knowledge of other music styles and generational tastes.

?    Be proficient in reading music.

?    Be skilled in conducting choirs / orchestra

?    Be experienced in training and managing teams.

?    A bachelor’s degree and some formal training in music (and specifically church music) is preferred.

 

Music Ministry

?    Assist the Worship Minister in leading the worship ministry.

?    Lead choir and orchestra rehearsals when called upon.

?    Assist Worship Minister in overseeing sound & lighting engineers.

?    Assist in directing the Christmas at Birchman production.

?    Create and design Ableton sessions for worship services.

 

Student & Young Adult Ministries

?    Work with the Student & Young Adult Pastors in developing ministry goals.

?    Plan services through Planning Center.

?    Maintain effective communication with the band members.

?    Lead contemporary band rehearsals.

?    Lead worship for both Student and Young Adult services.

?    Develop and oversee volunteers.

 

Other Responsibilities

?    Attend weekly staff meetings.

?    Participate in church wide events (Kids Adventure Week, Round Up, Fall Festival, etc.)

?    Attend new member’s Discover Birchman classes.

?    Participate in local outreach & global mission trips.
