Associate Pastor, Next Generations

Billings Vineyard Church

(Permanent, Full Time)

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Next Generations Pastor is a member of the Pastoral Team of the Billings Vineyard with responsibility for developing and leading the kids, youth, and parent ministry teams of the Billings Vineyard Church. This position is a full-time salaried position, Sunday through Thursday, including Christmas and Holy Week events, with some flexibility for ministry events. Some remote/offsite work is allowable outside of church office hours. This position will be authorized 2 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year as well as 2 Sundays per year not occurring during annual vacation. This position reports to the Senior Pastor.

 

RELATIONSHIPS AS AN EXPRESSION OF MISSION:

-       Possess and maintain a vibrant relationship with God that includes a missional knowledge of Holy Scripture, interaction with the Holy Spirit through regular spiritual practices, and the ability to receive and minister with spiritual gifts.

-       Be actively discipled.

-       Demonstrate a life that reflects the VineyardUSA Core Values.

-       Build and maintain relationships in Yellowstone County with businesses, civic groups, non-profits, and other church Kids and Youth leaders.

-       Build and maintain relationships based on trust and mutual support with parents, volunteers, and the congregation.

-       Build and maintain relationships with kids and students.

MINISTRY:

-       Provide Pastoral Care.

-       Participate in the Preaching Schedule.

-       Assist the Senior Pastor in Small Group oversight and leadership.

-       Lead the Church in the Senior Pastor’s absence.

-       Create discipleship and evangelism opportunities for kids, youth, and parents.

-       Create and maintain outreach opportunities for kids, youth, and families.

-       Identify service projects in the community to serve the unchurched.

-       Create events and parties that foster a culture of invitation.

-       Support the Billings Vineyard Outreach ministry by participating with and integrating their efforts into the kids and youth dynamic.

-       Support the Welcome Home team in bringing families from visitors to attenders.

LEADERSHIP:

-       Develop missional vision for the kids and youth ministries that flows from the mission of the Billings Vineyard and a personal vibrant relationship with God.

-       Recruit, train, motivate, sustain, and manage teams of volunteers for kids and youth in accordance with the Billings Vineyard Leadership Philosophy.

-       Draw, disciple, and release kids and students for ministry.

-       Be the face of kids and youth ministries for families and children on Sunday mornings and through weekly professional digital and in-person communication.

-       Administrate the ministry through vision casting, strategic planning, and budget management.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

-       National Conference and ministry workshop (as available) attendance.

-       Vineyard Institute Courses.

-       Dependent on gifting, church growth and needs, increase in oversight of ministries, preaching or teaching opportunities, developing ministries, and more.
