JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full Time – Reports to Senior Pastor of ACCC

JOB OVERVIEW: Our collaborative church model brings infants to 6th grade together from our Chinese speaking ACCC congregation (80% of our children) and our English-speaking EACF congregation (20% of our  children). The Director of Children’s Ministry will lead the children in worship and Sunday School gatherings on  Sunday mornings and in special programming throughout the year, along with building teamwork with  parents, volunteers, and leaders from both ACCC and EACF. The candidate must have a passion for nurturing children’s lives through the gospel of Christ, equipping parents to lead their children’s spiritual development  and discipleship, and training volunteers.

EXPECTATIONS (2 Peter 1:3-11, 1 Timothy 4:6-16, 2 Timothy 1:6-14):

• Solid and growing faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, with developing maturity in relationship with Christ  through regular prayer, devotional Bible reading, and worship.

• Continued ministerial development through personal study, formal and informal learning, including  participation in conferences, workshops, and networking.

• Maturity in relationships with others of all ages, as a godly example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and  purity, demonstrating Christ’s heart for others inside/outside church, and maintaining openness and  accountability to others, with no besetting or unaddressed sin issues, and a humble reliance on God’s  grace.

• In agreement with the Church’s Confession of Faith and able to articulate the Gospel and to teach with  clarity, conviction, and compassion.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

1. VISION

• Initiate and develop a vibrant curriculum that will allow children to experience Jesus in a  relevant and relational way

• Work with Children’s Ministry Deacons in planning short and long-term goals of Children’s  Ministry

• Seek new and creative ways to do ministry to stay current and effective

• Have annual evaluations of current curriculum and propose changes accordingly

2. COLLABORATION

• Communicate the role of parents as main disciplers of their children, partnering with them in  the spiritual nurture and development of their children

• Develop a dynamic team of volunteers through relationship-building, recruitment, resourcing  and training, and recognition

• Lead a Children’s Ministry Committee of leaders and parents from ACCC and EACF to  collaborate to help make decisions, encourage participation, and address needs

• Proactively plan training opportunities and develop resources for parents and volunteers to be  equipped to support/teach their children in the gospel

• Build healthy working relationship with pastoral staff, church leaders (elders and deacons), and  volunteers

• Collaborate with the Youth Minister in transitioning students from children’s ministry to youth  ministry

• Participate in regular staff and leadership meetings with openness and a collaborative spirit,  with a desire to grow in community and fellowship

• When needs arise, a children’s ministry assistant may be hired to report to the Director of  Children’s Ministry

3. OUTREACH

• Develop children’s outreach events (such as VBS, retreats, etc.)

• Utilize opportunities in reaching out to children who are using the church’s facilities, such as  Chinese school

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Love of Christ, His mission, and His church. Love for children, for families, for people • Experienced and trained in area of education, seminary degree not required

• Fluent in both Chinese and English due to need of communicating with both Chinese and English sides,  highly preferred

• Gifts – Pastor/Shepherd, Leadership, Administration, Teaching

• Talents Desired – solid organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills,  ability to motivate others, influential, strong relational skills

• Personality Traits – Love for children, compassionate, enthusiastic, dependability

COMPENSATION:

• Job Type – Full Time

• Starting Salary Range – $45-60k, DOQ, with annual reviews

GENERAL INFORMATION:

• Church Denomination - Non-Denominational

• Description of Organization - ACCC is a Chinese immigrant congregation organized in 1980 by students  from Taiwan. Over the years, the church has grown with more Chinese-heritage immigrants and  migrants from other cities in the USA, has planted two daughter churches (Johns Creek and East Cobb),  and has supported the separation of the English-speaking congregation EACF to be independent but  partnered daughter/sister congregation sharing a facility and collaborating for children and youth  ministries. ACCC oversees the children’s ministry while EACF oversees the youth ministry.
