Position Profile

The School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy (SoPMFT) at Fuller Theological Seminary invites applications for a full-time appointment as Assistant Professor of the Practice of Clinical Psychology. This faculty appointment will be in the Department of Clinical Psychology, which is located in Pasadena, CA. Fuller’s Clinical Psychology department offers two degrees: a PhD in clinical psychology (that follows the scientist-practitioner training model) and a PsyD in clinical psychology (that follows the practitioner-scholar training model). Both programs are designed to prepare graduates for careers and leadership positions in areas such as academia, private practice, hospitals, and community health clinics.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills and a demonstrated commitment to direct service. The integration of psychology and theology is central to our school’s identity and the preferred candidate will display competence in this area. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to serve as a regular faculty member in the Clinical Psychology Department and in the SoPMFT, teach practice oriented courses related to clinical work, supervise students engaged in practicum activities, and mentor students research activities.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree in clinical psychology is required. Also, at the time of appointment, the candidate must be licensed/licensed-eligible in the state of California. Candidates should demonstrate experience in clinical work, supervision, and in teaching at the graduate level.  Candidates should also show evidence of contributing to the field through professional presentations and publications and have the capability to effectively serve the culturally, ethnically, racially, and theologically diverse student body enrolled in this program.
