Gather Worship Leader

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor

SUPERVISES: Gather Music Leader

PART TIME:           Part Time, up to 10 hours per week

SALARY: $24-34/hour

We are looking to connect with those who resonate with modern worship, and who may have been hurt by the church in the past but who have not given up on exploring Christian faith and the way of Jesus.

The Gather Worship Leader is the primary leader and visionary for the Gather Worship Service. They collaborate with the Gather Leadership Team and Senior Pastor to ensure Gather Worship runs smoothly and meaningfully each week, while also connecting with the broader neighborhood and community through service and events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate a meaningful weekly Gather Worship service, along with Gather Music Coordinator and the support of the Senior Pastor.
Creating and sharing a dialogical sermon/message weekly as a part of the Gather Worship service.
Attends Monday morning staff meeting with other AUMC staff.
Periodically attends Sunday morning services as required by the Senior Pastor.
Works with the Gather leadership team for effective community outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS, Church experience, writing and communication skills, sermon/homily preparation, biblical interest and interpretation skills, worship leadership and conversation facilitation during worship.
