Position Details
Title: Part-Time Youth Counselor
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
Fridays, 7:30–9:30 pm (Youth fellowship/program)
Sundays, 10:30 am–12:30 pm (Worship / Sunday program)
Additional flexible hours for preparation, communication, and occasional meetings
Compensation: 24 USD per hour

Location: Arcadia, California (in-person role)
Key Responsibilities
Build caring, Christ-centered relationships with youth (grades 6–12), providing spiritual encouragement, mentoring, and a listening ear.
Help plan and lead Friday night youth programs, including Bible study, small groups, discussions, games, and occasional outreach events.
Support Sunday morning ministry to youth (e.g., Sunday school lesson, small group, or youth-focused teaching as assigned).
Collaborate with pastors, parents, and volunteers to provide consistent spiritual care and age-appropriate discipleship for both middle school and high school students in a small-group setting.
Help bridge cultural and language gaps between first-generation Chinese parents and their second-generation youth, fostering understanding and healthy communication.
Communicate regularly with parents and church leadership about youth needs, schedule, and programs.
Assist in organizing occasional special events such as outings, retreats, or service projects as the ministry grows.
Qualifications
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the core Christian beliefs of Arcadia Living Stone Baptist Church.
Heart for youth ministry, especially for second-generation students in Chinese or Asian-American immigrant families.
Experience working with youth (volunteer or paid) in church(es), school, campus fellowship, or similar setting is preferred.
Able to connect with both middle school and high school students, and comfortable facilitating small-group discussions and simple Bible studies.
Good communication skills with both youth and parents; sensitivity to cross-cultural and bilingual dynamics.
Fluency in English, with conversational Mandarin Chinese highly preferred, since all parents are Mandarin-speaking.
Willingness to work within a team under the direction of the pastoral staff or church leadership.
Must complete any required background checks and follow church child-safety policies.
